Application tracking & rules

Status tracking

You can monitor your application status natively. To check your status online, visit the official Korea Visa Portal -> Check Application Status -> Select "Diplomatic Office" and enter your passport details. You can pick up your passport on the next working day following your SMS alert.

Jeju Island transit rule

If you hold a valid, active single-entry visa at the time of your travel, that visa will be prioritized and automatically tagged as USED by immigration officers, even if you are only passing through or visiting a visa-free region like Jeju Island.

Expired visa while abroad

Your visa serves as your entry permission. As long as you enter before the expiry date on the document, you may stay in South Korea for the specific duration of days authorized by the embassy during your landing window.

Passport updates

If you renew your passport but your valid Korean visa remains inside your old passport booklet, you do not need to report this online or update the portal. Simply bring and present both your old passport (containing the visa) and your new passport together when you clear airport customs.

Frequently asked questions

Do you guarantee visa approval?+

No application center or processing agent can guarantee approval. The final approval or denial of any visa is strictly at the sole discretion of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea after reviewing your financial and personal documents.

Are the application fees refundable if I get denied?+

No. Regardless of the final embassy assessment or if you choose to withdraw your documents, all KVAC service fees and embassy processing fees are completely non-refundable.

When are my documents submitted to the embassy?+

Once your core requirements are verified, submitted, and checked for missing pages at the counter, they are queued and forwarded immediately to the embassy for screening.

Can I drop off my documents at any travel agency?+

Individual walk-ins can submit directly at KVAC. If you prefer using a third-party service, you must use one of the embassy's officially recognized partners. Check the updated Designated Travel Agencies List for verified providers.
